Biography of Don Sperry
Don Sperry started in the glass business in Bakersfield, California, in 1969 as an apprentice union glazier at Valley Glass. After a few years of working as a glazier, Don's glass career continued as he began doing estimates for commercial projects. In the late 1970s, Don became a partner in Bakersfield Glass, which specialized in commercial projects.
In 1980, Don and Theda bought a small beach house in Grover Beach. While enjoying some time at the coast in 1988, Don was told of a small glass shop that was for sale. He stopped by one Saturday morning, just as the company was in the process of having a "going out of business" sale. Don purchased Window People that morning.
Since that time, Don and Theda have been servicing the glass and window needs of the Five Cities, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Maria areas. Whether your needs are building your dream home, remodeling, fixing up a rental or second home, or putting a new storefront on your business, Window People is there in your community. Local contractors and architects rely on Don's expertise and deep wealth of window and glass knowledge. His input is vital, and over the years, Don has saved contractors, architects, and homeowners, time and money.
When Don isn't working, you can find him out on the local public golf courses tearing up the links or at least trying to. Don is an avid golfer and a supporter of local businesses.
